My visit to the roman city of Clunia

Last weekend, I went with some friends to a roman city called Clunia.

Clunia was a roman city in Burgos , Spain.
In Clunia there was a theatre, two thermaes called the arches 1 and the arches 2.
There also were three houses and a forum.

THE THEATRE: A large place that was used for plays. But in the 2nd century it was transformed into a venue for shows with wild animals and fights.

THE ARCHES 2: It is not all excavated , so we don`t know the exactly plans of this themae.
It consists by a palestra that give acess to diferent rooms with diferent types of o baths with hot water and cold water.

THE ARCHES 1: This bath has a simetrical structure . It has only one pool but bigger than the others of the Arches 2. It has a big area for this pool also called Natatio. The main acess is conected with an external street.

HOUSE nº1: The biggest house because it has some subterranean rooms. The subterranean rooms and the mosaics in floors attracted my attention.

HOUSE nº2: The smaller house. It was used by poor people.

HOUSE nº3: The northeast part of this house has yet to be dug. It has paintings on walls and mosaics.

FORUM: It is a public square. It was made to meet people in special moments. The religious part of the forum is the Temple of Jupiter. The people trade in the central area whee are small shops called taberns.

The habitants of Clunia made his own coins. Maybe romans played parchis.
